Summer Interns go to FIRST® Robotics State Finals!

At the beginning of the month, our summer interns Ben and Wyatt competed with their FIRST® Robotics team, the Las Pumas, and they qualified for the state finals! This year’s FIRST® Robotics Competition is titled Destination: Deep Space ℠. FIRST®, along with The Boeing Company, presented the teams with the task of competing against each other while navigating unforeseeable planetary conditions using their robots to collect the maximum amount of supplies to brace the spacecraft for liftoff. FIRST® focuses on the core STEM subjects: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Focus on these subjects allows for more applicable skills in school and society. The participants of STEM programs or courses learn much more than before about new ways to discover solutions and how to get more involved in our complex society. FIRST® and other STEM related programs provide our future generations with useful skills such as teamwork, time management, marketing, engineering, creative problem-solving, and much more. Congrats to the Las Pumas, and thank you to programs like FIRST® that help teach future generations vital skills for real-world applications.
